Can I Join Financial Benefits CU?
You can qualify for FBCU membership under the following circumstances:
- You have a family member (parent, spouse, grandparent, grandchild or child) who is currently a member.
- You live, work or worship in the city of Alameda.
- The company you work for is a member of the Northern California chapter of the Better Business Bureau.
- We have numerous small businesses in the Bay Area that offer FBCU membership. Provide us with the company's name and we can check our company listing to see if you qualify.
The credit union must be able to verify that you qualify for membership. Qualification is verified with a paystub from employer, a PG&E bill for residency or a postmarked communication or letter of referral from the pastor or leader of a 501(c)3 Alameda religious organization.

In The Event of a Disaster
All of us who live and work in the Bay Area consider ourselves lucky. However, it does come with the risk of being in earthquake country.
The staff of Financial Benefits Credit Union has policies and procedures in place in the event that a major earthquake, or other disaster, strikes the Bay Area.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind our members that the credit union has both our automated Call24, our 24/7 phone service, and CyberBranch, our online banking service, available in the event of an emergency. For those members who are able to access CyberBranch, you can use the E-Message feature to contact the credit union directly, otherwise, send emails to fbcudirect@aol.com.
